"Delay was handled really badly"
My flight with Avelo got delayed, the delay itself wasn’t even the biggest issue, it was how poorly they handled it. We were basically left sitting around with barely any updates, and the few announcements we did get were vague things like, “we’ll let you know soon,” which doesn’t help when everyone is trying to figure out what’s going on.
I understand that delays happen, but the airline needs to take responsibility for how they communicate when things go wrong. The staff didn’t seem to have real answers, there was no clear timeline, and nobody seemed accountable for keeping passengers informed. It made the whole experience frustrating enough that I wouldn’t book with them again.

"Good wheelchair help, just a little waiting"
I booked through aveloair.com and needed wheelchair help at the airport. It was easy to request it, and the person on the phone told me what I needed to do. The staff was nice and didn’t make me feel weird about it, which I really appreciated. Only giving 4 stars because I did have to wait a bit before someone came over.

"Refund worked out okay"
I got my refund back without too much trouble. I think it took maybe around a week, or a little less, I can’t remember the exact day I requested it. It was a few days slower than I was hoping, but support did get back to me and the money eventually showed up on my card. Overall, fair.

I was a little worried my carry-on might be an issue, but honestly, well, actually I expected at least some hassle, it fit just fine and there were no weird surprises at the gate...

Trying to book was annoying. The site kept sending me back when I tried to choose seats. Then the price jumped after adding bags. I did get the ticket in the end. But yeah. Took way longer than it should have

"Cheap ticket, but the bag fees tell the real story"
I booked Avelo because the fare looked really cheap at first, and that was the whole reason I went with them. On the surface, it seemed like a great deal.
But once I started adding bags, the price changed fast. The carry-on and checked bag fees felt higher than I expected, and reading between the lines, the low ticket price only works if you’re traveling really light.
The flight itself was fine and nothing dramatic happened, but I do wish the total cost had been clearer from the start. By the end, it didn’t feel like much of a bargain, so I probably wouldn’t make Avelo my first choice next time.

Boarding took way longer than it should have. At first I figured it was just a normal delay, but this is where it got annoying: nobody was explaining which line was for what, people were cutting in, and the whole thing felt completely unorganized. It was just frustrating standing around with no clear direction

Booking the flight was straightforward, though of course my card ended up getting charged twice at first, which kind of confirmed what I already think about online booking stuff, there’s always some random payment issue. I had to wait a bit for support to sort it out, which was annoying, but to be fair they did fix it and refunded the extra charge. The flight was fine and the price was good, so even though it wasn’t perfect, I’d probably still use them again.

"Umm, the gate experience was awful"
Umm, the whole gate situation was a mess. There were barely any clear updates, and the staff seemed annoyed whenever people asked basic questions. Then boarding changed at the last minute with almost no explanation, so everyone was just standing around confused. I get that it’s a cheap flight, but it really doesn’t feel worth it when the airport part is this stressful.

"I really wanted Avelo to work..."
I really wanted Avelo to work out because the fare was definitely cheap, but the schedule was kind of hit or miss for me. The flights were either way too early or late, and there weren’t many options during the week. If you’re flexible, it could be worth it, but for my trip it ended up making things more inconvenient than I expected...

I had some flight credit to use, but the whole process ended up being confusing and annoying. The website kept throwing errors, and when I reached out to support, they weren’t much help. In the end, I felt like it was more hassle than it was worth, and I wouldn’t count on using flight credit smoothly next time...

"Great price for an easy trip"
I booked with Avelo because the fare was actually affordable, not one of those “cheap” prices that jumps way up once you add the basics. Even after paying for a bag, it still came out cheaper than the other airlines I looked at.
It wasn’t fancy or anything, but for the price, I was happy. I just needed a simple way to get where I was going without overspending, and it did the job. I’d definitely recommend checking them out if the fare looks good.

"Cabin was cleaner than I expected"
I flew Avelo recently and, weirdly enough, the first thing I noticed was that the cabin actually felt clean. I don’t always think about that right away, but the seats looked wiped down, my tray table wasn’t sticky, and the floor didn’t have much random stuff on it. The bathroom was maybe a little tired by the end of the flight, but nothing that made me uncomfortable. For a short flight, it was totally fine...

"The fees need to be explained better"
The change fees were frustrating. I get that policies exist, but it felt like I got hit with extra costs without much warning. If a company is going to charge fees like that, they should be upfront about them and take some accountability for making sure customers actually understand what they’re agreeing to.

"App crashed right before my flight"
The app was unreliable for me. It logged me out twice and my boarding pass wouldn’t load at the airport. I ended up using the website instead, which worked better, but it was still annoying.

I had to cancel my flight, and it was way more stressful than I expected. I’m usually careful about booking because plans can change, but the cancellation info on the site wasn’t clear at all. When I tried to get help, everything felt slow and uncertain, and I ended up feeling like I didn’t really have any good options, just fees and a lot of back-and-forth. If your trip goes exactly as planned, it might be fine, but if there’s any chance you’ll need to cancel, I’d be cautious.
